The Traveling Tea Ladies- Death in Dallas

New author, Melanie O'Hara-Salyers, is entrancing and entertaining readers with her book, The Traveling Tea Ladies- Death in Dallas, the first of her Traveling Tea Ladies Mystery Series. This book is perfect for the tea lover, the traveler, the foodie or the mystery buff!

The series, set in Dogwood Cove, Tennessee introduces the reader to Amelia Spencer, owner of The Pink Dogwood Tea Room, affectionately referred to as "The Pink Lady."  The cast of characters stars Amelia's three fun loving friends. Cassandra Reynolds is the third generation owner of Reynold's Chocolates and always on Dogwood Cove's "Best Dressed List." Olivia Rivers owns Riverbend Farm, a theraputic horseback riding center. Despite her petite height of 5 feet, she can easily out eat and out work any farm hand and is known for her ferocious appetite! Sarah McCaffrey is the local librarian who is known for her quirky outfits that complement her literary theme of the day. Together they are known as "The Traveling Tea Ladies" and murder and mayhem seem to follow them wherever they go!

When Amelia and the girls travel to Dallas for a homecoming/reunion trip, they quickly find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. When Amelia finds herself the primary suspect, the ladies quickly begin their own investigation to discover the real killer!

Readers will enjoy tried and true  tea room recipes from Melanie's own tea room, Miss Melanie's Tea Room, included with each book in the series as well as her tips on making the perfect pot of tea.

Meet The Author
Miss Melanie's Tea Room In Johnson City, Tennessee
Melanie, her husband Keith and their children live upstairs in their 106 year Old Victorian Tea Room. "It's always been a dream for me to own a historic home. I feel like we are caretakers of a vital part of our town's history," O'Hara-Salyers said.
"I always had tea afterschool with my mother and we incorporated tea rooms into our travels. It wasn't until my semester abroad in London studying International Communications that my passion for tea was truly ignited!" she said. "I knew at some point I would bring my love of all things tea back to the states."

Melanie earned a B.A. in marketing and public relations from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. "It only seemed natural for me to base my first book at SMU since I spent so much time there. It's such a beautiful campus and an important part of my personal history." O'Hara-Salyers said.

When asked when she first began writing, she paused and began laughing. "Oh, I can remember writing plays at age 7 for the kids on my block. I wanted to raise money for the muscular dystrophy telethon and I thought a play would be a fun way to do it.," she said. "We never performed because within a week, most of the kids were ready to go back to Barbie dolls or soccer. My rehearsal schedule just didn't fit in with playtime very well."

Melanie's first book, "The Travleing Tea Ladies- Death in Dallas" is scheduled for release in Fall 2011 by Little Creek Books. If you would like to schedule Melanie for a book signing, tea tasting event, tea education lecture or tea tour, please contact her at
